Bids for the referenced project were received and read aloud on Thursday, May 26, 2011. All bids were certified and a recommendation was made by our firm to the City to select the low Bidder, Walker Patton Company, Inc. The City’s Projects Committee approved the recommendation and on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 the City Council tentatively awarded the Contract to the low bidder. The bid tab is attached for use:Elm III Cert. We plan to issue an addendum later today to address the scrap metal at the old railroad line (this is the property of Liberty Recyling angd they will move it prior to construction) and also how to address the Railroad Insurance/Permits.

Elm Street Drainage Project – Phase III for the City of Tuscaloosa; Bid Date Set

The City of Tuscaloosa will receive bids for the Elm Street Drainage Project – Phase III on Thursday, May 26, 2011 until 2:00 pm. Bids will be opened in the Council Chambers.

A mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 2:00 pm in the conference room of the Office of City Engineer.

Please refer to Bid documents for all official information (Bid Documents take precedence over any information posted here).

Plans will be available on or after Monday, May 16 at our office (903 1/2 Main Avenue, Northport, Alabama 205-345-0746 – please call before you come by to make sure someone is here) and at the University Blvd. location of Tuscablue.

The City Council voted on December 21, 2010 to tentatively award a contract to Burnett Civil Contracting, LLC, who was the low bidder. Burnett’s Base Bid and all seven alternates were accepted.

ADDENDUM NO. 2

ITEM #1: Contract time Revision

A contingency has been added to the contract time period that states that five (5) calendar days will be added to the existing contract time for each alternate awarded.

ITEM #2: Ramp Replacement

The costs for a truncated dome detectable warning strip should be included in the line item price for each new Curb Ramp. The line item Truncated Dome Strip is for a stand alone application of a detectable warning strip.

ITEM #1: Bid Tab Revision

A contingency item has been added to the base bid for 10 (ten) tons of asphalt for miscellaneous patching and repair. See and use attached Revised Bid Sheet to submit bid proposal.

ITEM #2: SPECIFICATIONS

SECTION 02751 – CEMENT CONCRETE PAVEMENT has been replaced to reflect change from stamped concrete detectable warning to a brick red resin detectable warning truncated dome strip as shown on the plans.

ADA Sidewalk Rehabilitation Project Pre-bid Meeting

The pre-bid conference for the City of Tuscaloosa’s ADA Sidewalk Rehabilitation Project was held yesterday at the Office of the City Engineer. This was a mandatory meeting for all prospective bidders.

Bids for the City of Tuscaloosa’s ADA Sidewalk Rehabilitation Project will be opened on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 2:00 pm in the Council Chambers at City Hall.

All bidders shall be Contractor’s licensed in the State of Alabama and bidders shall write their Contractor’s license number on the envelope which contains the bid.

A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 10:00 am at the Office of the City Engineer at 1001 28th Avenue.
